There are a ton of different cards out there for magic, and it really depends on what you’re looking for in a card. What are the best cards for magic?

There are many different types of cards that can be used for magic, but some of the best cards for magic are the tarot cards, the playing cards, and the tea cards. Each of these cards has its own unique properties that can be used for magic, and each can be used in a variety of ways. For example, the tarot cards can be used to read fortunes, to predict the future, and to find out secrets. The playing cards can be used for card tricks, for gambling, and for playing games. And the tea cards can be used for divination, for summoning spirits, and for other magical purposes.

First, my tongue in cheek answer: the best cards for magic are the ones you borrow from a spectator. 🙂
Okay okay, if I don’t have the luxury of a borrowed deck, usually I prefer bicycles. I agree with Joshua Mandel with the Elite edition bicycles. Right now, that’s what I use.
Occasionally I prefer bee. Why? The feel of the cards isn’t noticeably different to me, but sometimes the borderless, busy pattern is an advantage. If I’m going to be dealing a lot of seconds or bottoms, I want bee cards. If I’m going to reverse cards in the deck, I want a border-backed deck, like bicycles.
I would explicitly avoid the “fancy” decks that are marketed by folks like Theory11, at least for performance. Why? Simply because they’re unfamiliar. There will always be some proportion of your audience who will think the deck is gaffed (even if it’s not), simply because they don’t recognize the manufacturer.
